What if I am running late? Need to cancel last minute?
Calm. Counseled. Thoughts., allows for a 10-minute grace period pending you have communicated this need with your psychotherapist. If 10 minutes have passed, the session will be notated as a no-show/missed appointment. You will be allowed the option to reschedule later in the week pending availability or will be charged a no-show fee as detailed in the treatment agreement.
Why a fee if I have to cancel/no-show an appointment?
Calm. Counseled. Thoughts., values your time and aims to provide quality care. A required fee helps to minimize no-show/cancellations and thus allows for continued participation toward meeting of defined treatment goals.
How long are the appointments?
The initial (assessment) session is a 75-minute appointment. A therapy hour is an approximated time of 53-55 minutes.
Can I get you to sign paperwork/required forms instead of me having to come to therapy?
Therapy is a service that is taken seriously and prioritized. In the event that you request for forms to be completed – it will be at the discretion of the psychotherapist, additional fees will be required that is not covered by insurance companies, and will be determined after an extended amount of time in which you and the psychotherapist have establish a therapeutic rapport/relationship. If the goal of therapy is to only have a form(s) completed (whether for disability, social security, custody, military discharge, or something similar), that is not in line with the mission of Calm. Counseled. Thoughts., PLLC.
What exactly is therapy?

The psychotherapist is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, Person-Centered (Rogerian) techniques, Mindfulness, Trauma-Informed practices, and other researched and scientific/empirically based approaches.
